<p>The tool has a turret (1) with posts (7 - 10) to fix a set of terminating and cutting tools e.g. abrasive belts (16, 18), and abrasive belt driving devices (20, 22). A numerically controlled motorized unit pivots the turret to select one of the tools with respect to a part (40) to be machined and terminated. The tool and the part are moved one with respect to another along motorized linear axes (X, Y, Z) controlled by a control unit. A digitally controlled work-holder unit (2) presents motorized rotative axes (A, B, C) allowing continuous rotation of the part in control of the control unit. The work-holder includes a 3R(RTM: Not defined) type removable part holder. An independent claim is also included for a method for machining and terminating parts.</p> |
