FIELD: physics. ^ SUBSTANCE: specimen size is measured, support material is selected by hardness to arrange specimen between polished supports and compress it between supports in tension testing machine for specimen failure force. Support material is selected with hardness exceeding that of specimen so that in compressing material between said supports spot is formed its sizes making 0.3-0.8 of specimen size.
