The opening (14) has a caisson (26) for laterally closing a lower part of a cab interior of a convertible vehicle (10). A side glass pane (28) is slidably assembled in the caisson between a raised closing position and a lowered position. A roof arch (30) is slidably assembled with respect to the caisson between raised and lowered positions. The arch connects a movable roof panel (20) of the vehicle with an upper end of the glass pane when the panel closes the cab interior, in its raised position. The arch is arranged adjacent to an upper edge (26A) of the caisson, in its lowered position. An independent claim is also included for a convertible vehicle comprising a side opening.
