732,947. Making envelopes. UNITED STATES ENVELOPE CO. July 3, 1953 [Dec. 5, 1952], No. 18482/53. Class 94 (2). An envelope drying machine of the type described in Specification 697,898 is modified in that a pusher ejecting mechanism replaces the suction roller for removing the envelopes from the chain drier. The pusher mechanism comprises a horizontal rock shaft 19, an arm 25 being secured to one end of the rock shaft and pivotally connected at 26 to a member 27 which is adjustably attached to a rod 28 connected to an eccentric 29. A pair of spaced brackets 33 are adjustably mounted on the shaft 19 and carry pusher members 35. A flattened portion 36 is provided on the members 35 for contact with the edge of the envelope's seal flap 14. At each clockwise movement of shaft 19 an envelope at the instant of its release by the fingers 5 is displaced inwardly of the drier and withdrawn by the belts 17 and rollers 18. A pair of brackets 38, having depending rods 41, are adjustably mounted on a fixed bar 37 by a screw and slot 39, 40, each rod 41 carrying an adjustable .horizontal finger 42 which supports the seal flap.
