PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a glass substrate which enables a user to exactly perform positioning or stock number verification of the glass substrate when corner cut parts or orientation flat parts of the glass substrate are irradiated with laser light.SOLUTION: The surfaces of corner cut parts or orientation flat parts of the glass substrate 10 are kept unpolished so as to perform positioning or stock number verification of the glass substrate 10 by irradiating the corner cut parts or orientation flat parts with laser light from a laser displacement gauge. Specifically, grindstones 16A, 16B for corner cut having a grain size of #400 to less than #600 are used so that the arithmetic average roughness (Ra) of the surfaces of the corner cut parts or orientation flat parts exceeds 0.5 μm. Herewith, it is verified by actual measurement that the arithmetic average roughness (Ra) of the surfaces of the corner cut parts or orientation flat parts attains to 0.8-1.0 μm. |
