PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem wherein, in a system where a content is shared among devices connected to a network, when the same content is redundantly recorded in a plurality of devices, a storage capacity of the devices are wastefully consumed. SOLUTION: This content management method has, for instance, a function of managing contents to prevent the same content from being recorded in a plurality of devices on a network. Specifically, for example, the content management method has: a content list synchronization means to synchronize content lists among the devices connected to the network; an ID addition means to add IDs for content identification to all the contents on the network; and a same content record notification means to inform a user that the same content has been recorded in the plurality of devices connected to the network.
