PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that passing phase difference is generated between a reference state for passing a high frequency signal with few loss and an attenuation state for obtaining a desired attenuation amount, in the case of a conventional variable attenuator. SOLUTION: Passing phases are made equal between the reference state and the attenuation state by making a FET 5 for phase correction into an off state when an FET 3 between input and output is at an on state, and making the FET 5 for phase correction into the on state when the FET 3 between input and output is at the off state by installing the FET 5 for phase correction in parallel with the FET 3 between input and output and in series with a constant phase variable attenuator 4.
