PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To apply ultrasonic waves of a frequency corresponding to a target by considering the frequency-dependency of attenuation. SOLUTION: The ultrasonic treatment apparatus determines frequencies of carrier waves and modulation waves by using frequency information stored in an output information storage part 215 according to a target position and a target object assigned by an operator and input from an input part 250, determines frequencies f<SB>1</SB>and f<SB>2</SB>associated with the frequencies of the carrier waves and modulation waves, and outputs the determined frequencies f<SB>1</SB>and f<SB>2</SB>to a drive command part 220. The drive command part 220 commands a first signal generating part 232 to output signals of the frequency f<SB>1</SB>and commands a second signal generating part 234 to output signals of the frequency f<SB>2</SB>. The first signal generating part 232 and second signal generating part 234 generate signals based on the input, and output the generated signals to an addition part 236. The addition part 236 adds the input signals, and outputs the signals to an ultrasonic emission part 110. The ultrasonic emission part 110 emits ultrasonic waves based on the input signals. As a result, ultrasonic waves in which sound waves of the frequencyΔf =¾f<SB>1</SB>-f<SB>2</SB>¾ are self-demodulated at the target position are propagated within a subject.
