PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet conveying apparatus capable of preventing image failure by reducing an amount of paper dusts and remaining transfer toner adhered to a sheet without deteriorating a cleaning performance of a cleaning member for a suction conveying-type conveying belt. SOLUTION: In this sheet conveying device 18, a cleaning brush 200a is not made slidably contact sucking endless belts 182, 183 which pass through sucking ports 108a, 108b, and the cleaning brush is made to slidably contact non-sucking endless belts 181, 184 which do not pass through the sucking ports. Consequently, it is possible to bring out paper dust and remaining transfer toner which adhere to the sucking endless belts in sucking areas in which sucking holes 180 are formed, to the outside of the apparatus by means of sheets S to be conveyed. On the other hand, from non-sucking endless belts 181, 184, the cleaning brush can clean and remove the paper dust and remaining transfer toner which adhere to the non-sucking endless belts 181, 184.
