PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital camera which effectively absorbs impact force and suppresses largeness in size. SOLUTION: The digital camera includes: an optical casing 4 having a flat shape as a whole; a camera body having a housing part 2x for housing the optical casing in a displaceable way; a plate-like pressing member 21 fixed to the camera body so as to hold the optical casing with an inner surface of the camera casing housing part; and an impact absorber arranged between an outer surface of the optical casing and the inner surface of the camera body housing part, wherein, when the camera body receives impact from the outside while the plate-like pressing member presses the optical casing in the direction of the inner surface of the housing part, the optical casing is displaced in the housing part by shear deformation of the impact absorbing means, and shearing force that occurs upon the displacement absorbs the impact to the optical casing.
