PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control method for a droplet discharge apparatus capable of efficiently treating a work. SOLUTION: The control method is for carrying out drawing operation on a work by moving the work in a drawing area, carrying out discharge inspection alternately in two inspection areas on both outer sides of the transfer direction of the work from the drawing area, and carrying out feeding and removing the work in two feeding and removing areas on the outer sides of the transfer direction from the respective inspection area. Using a pair of work stages 22, a single inspection stage 53 for receiving inspection discharge between the pair of work stages 22, and a pair of image recognition means for image recognition of the inspection stage 53, the control method is characterized by alternately carrying out the drawing operation by alternately moving the pair of work stage 22 between the drawing area and each feeding and removing area and at the same time alternately carrying out the discharge inspection by alternately moving the inspection stage 53 between the pair of inspection areas.
