PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device which can be manufactured at a low cost and can enlarge its brightness as well and provide a method of manufacturing the same. SOLUTION: To begin with, a positive electrode 11a is formed on a glass substrate 10 as shown in Figs.(A) and (B). Then, an insulation layer 11B is formed of cycloolefin to which a fluorescent material is dispersed as shown in Fig.(C). Then, an ink 21 containing a solvent dissolving the insulation layer 11B and a display composition is applied at a position opposing to the positive electrode 11A on the insulation layer 11B as shown in Fig.(D). Then, the solvent in the ink 21 is evaporated to solidify the display composition that is a nonvolatile composition in the ink 21 in a state of maintaining an electrical joint with the positive electrode 11A as shown in Fig.(E). At this time, the insulation layer 11B where the ink 21 is not applied remains undissolved and becomes barrier ribs 11D barring a light emitting layer 11C. That is to say, the fluorescent material is contained in the barrier ribs 11D. Then, a negative electrode 11E is formed as shown in Fig.(F). COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
