PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cell allowing stable and long-lasting current taking-out at low to moderate outputs in the magnesium air cell made of a readily available raw material. SOLUTION: The magnesium air cell is configured by positioning two Mg alloy plates (12), each having a composite current-collecting layer (14) constituted of a conductive metal layer (20) adhered to cover one plate surface and all end faces and an insulating resin layer (22) formed on it, to perpendicularly orient the plate surfaces, and superposing them with their composite current-collecting layers (14) mutually facing to attach a negative electrode terminal (26) to the conductive metal layer (20) of each Mg alloy plate (12), and winding an electrolytic solution holding sheet (16) around a superposed object and further winding a carbon fiber sheet (18) around an outer periphery of the electrolytic solution holding sheet (16), and attaching a positive electrode terminal (30) to the carbon fiber sheet (18).
