The device (10) has a valve flap (18) movable between a closing position and an open position and for selectively closing or partially releasing a passage area of exhaust gas flow channels (14, 16). A thermoelectric generator module (20) is thermally coupled with one of the exhaust gas flow channels and a cooling circuit (22), and an extension substance actuator i.e. wax actuator, is provided for temperature-dependent operation of the valve flap. The flow channel has an annular cross-section surrounding the other exhaust gas flow channel.
