<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve operational reliability by preventing malfunction of a shift register circuit while preventing an increase in power consumption. <P>SOLUTION: A unit shift register circuit SR has a transistor Q1 which supplies a clock signal CLK to an output terminal OUT, and two transistors Q2A, Q2B which discharge the output terminal OUT. Transistors Q9A, Q9B as a switching circuit alternately supply an output of an inverter using a gate node of the transistor Q1 as an input edge to gates of the transistors Q2A, Q2B, based on mutually complementary first and second control signals VFR, /VFR.
