<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a user-friendly printing apparatus that is enabled without keeping a user waiting for a long time. <P>SOLUTION: The printing apparatus has a setting unit for setting a start time for the user to start using the apparatus, and a control unit for disabling the apparatus in first standby mode or second standby mode where the apparatus can be started in a shorter time than in the first standby mode. The control unit determines whether the apparatus enters the first standby mode or the second standby mode, according to a time difference between a power-off instruction and the start time set by the setting unit, to control the apparatus to enter the determined mode. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
