NOVEL PORPHYRIN COMPLEX AND USE THEREOF

Disclosed is a novel porphyrin complex with superior light-collection properties and a dye-sensitized solar cell using this porphyrin complex as a sensitization dye. The porphyrin complex is characterized by being formed from a metal atom and a porphyrin derivative wherein a carboxyaryl group (the aryl ring being optionally substituted) is bonded to at the least one of four meso positions on a porphyrin ring optionally substituted at the ß position and a diarylamino group (the aryl ring being optionally substituted) is bonded to at least one meso position facing a meso position adjacent to the meso position to which the carboxyaryl group is bonded.
