<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent article capable of reducing sideways leakage generated as the excrement reaching a swelling portion in a crotch part crosses over a free portion of a barrier sheet. <P>SOLUTION: The absorbent article has a pair of elongated and flexible swelling suppressing members 41 extending between both sides of the crotch part C2 in the lateral direction and disposed to intersect each other on the crotch part C2. The pair of swelling suppressing members 41 are fixed to side ends only on the surface on a liquid-permeable top sheet side or on the body surface side of the liquid-permeable top sheet in the free portion 68, and are configured to be stretched in the longitudinal direction when the crotch part C2 swells to a prescribed height or higher to abut to the swelling suppressing members 41. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
