PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus having a new application management system. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus 101 includes: a management means for managing an application; an operation screen displaying means for displaying an operation screen to operate the application; and an error occurrence displaying means for displaying information indicating that the error has occurred in the application. When the management means receives the information indicating that an error has occurred in the application, it notifies the error occurrence displaying means of the occurrence of the error, and then the display screen of the apparatus is switched from the operation screen displayed by the operation screen displaying means to a screen that displays the information indicating that the error has occurred.
