The present invention provides a method, device and system for processing short messages. The method includes: receiving a short message sent from a Service Provider (SP); judging whether the short message is packet data of a long short message, if yes, storing the packet data in a memory; transmitting all packet data in turn, according to the order of all packet data, to a Short Message Service Centre (SMSC), when all packet data corresponding to the long short message is stored. The method, device and system provided by the present invention enable a terminal to receive the packet data of the long short message according to the right order, thus improving the operation convenience of a user.
