PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper sheet treating device which stably carries paper sheets, even when securing a space for retreating a switching gate in a branch part. SOLUTION: This paper sheet treating device for treating the paper sheets includes a carrying passage for carrying the paper sheets, the branch part 500 for branching off the carrying passage, the switching gate 504 for switching the carrying passage in the branch part 500, and a movable carrying guide 509 opposed to the switching gate 504 and forming a carrying surface 701 on the carrying passage and movable.
