PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a battery unit capable of realizing a security function for a loaded portable terminal, and a security system. SOLUTION: The portable terminal 30 is a settlement terminal of a portable type in which a settlement process is conducted. In the battery unit 40 loaded on the portable terminal 30, when a position of the unit itself as detected by an active tag processing part 43 is outside a prescribed area S, it is determined that the unit is in a limitation-required condition and a current limiting circuit 42 is controlled to limit and stop the current supplied from a battery 41 to a controlling part 31 of the portable terminal 30.
