PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To greatly reduce the power consumption of a motor in a construction vehicle which uses hydraulic pressure from a hydraulic pump driven by the motor for operating an actuator. SOLUTION: This drive control device for the hydraulic pump 2 includes a selector valve 15 provided in a suction pipe 3 of the hydraulic pump 2, a hydraulic conduit 17 guiding hydraulic pressure from a discharge pipe 5 of the hydraulic pump 2 via a check valve 16 to an accumulator 18, a hydraulic supply conduit 19 with one end connected to the accumulator 18 and the other end connected to the selector valve 15, and a controller 20 controlling to switch the selector valve 15 to an accumulator side A during operation when the motor 1 drives the hydraulic pump 2 for operation by the actuator 6, and controlling to switch the selector valve 15 to an assist side B to drive the hydraulic pump 2 with the hydraulic pressure of the accumulator 18 and to start the motor 1 at the same time or after the selector valve 15 is switched to the assist side B, in starting time of restarting the motor 1 after the stop of the drive of the motor 1 by the stop of the operation by the actuator 6.
