PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact reciprocating two-stage compression type gas compressor excellent in an increase in pressure and durability which are not achieved in the conventional compressor while having excellent sealing performance equivalent to a diaphragm type pump with respect to various particular insufflation gases. SOLUTION: This two-stage compression type different diameter piston compressor includes a casing 5, cylinders 24, 25, and a different diameter piston 8 with a large diameter portion and a small diameter portion integrated together. The different diameter piston 8 is reciprocated, thereby applying compression in first and second stages to gas sucked from below the large diameter portion and discharging compressed gas from above the small diameter portion. A piston shaft 9 formed in such a manner that an upper end is fixed to the different diameter piston 8 and a lower end is connected to a connecting rod 13 through pins is interposed between the different diameter piston 8 and the connecting rod 13. The piston pins 15 of the piston shaft 9 are provided with a piston pin guide 28 so that the piston pins 15 are guided to be vertically moved from both the sides of the pin portions of the piston 8.
