The near field communication device is provided with a contactless interface for contactless communication with an external communication device, a host interface for input and output to and from a host on which prescribed standard application programs are loaded, and a command generator which, disposed between the contactless interface and the host interface, generates selection commands for selecting prescribed standard application programs in the host. Initiated in response to access of the contactless interface by an external communication device, the command generator generates a selection command and outputs the generated selection command to the host interface.
