<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform conversion from multilevel data to binary data and assignment of binary data to a plurality of recording element arrays in a short time. <P>SOLUTION: The recording apparatus, which forms an image using a recording head equipped with a first and second recording element arrays comprised of a plurality of recording elements for one color component includes: a multilevel data buffer which stores multilevel data; a reading unit which reads the multilevel data stored in the multilevel data buffer; a production unit which produces binary data from the multilevel data by using a code table equipped with a plurality of code sets corresponding to gray levels, the code set including codes respectively corresponding to the first and second recording element arrays; and a transferring unit which transfers the binary data produced by the production unit to corresponding recording element arrays. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
