PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a grease coating apparatus usable even by a hand-handicapped operator or a single hand operator. SOLUTION: As shown in Fig.(a), an operator pinches a slender portion 14 of a rod-like workpiece 10 by fingers 53 of the hand 52 and places the workpiece on a workpiece placement portion 26 and an auxiliary workpiece placement portion 27 of a slide block 25. As shown in Fig.(b), while the slender portion 14 of the rod-like workpiece 10 is pinched by the fingers 53, the rod-like workpiece 10 is pressed by the hand 52 as shown by an arrow (4). When the rod-like workpiece 10 advances up to a predetermined position, a suitable amount of grease is coated onto the rod-like workpiece 10. After the completion of the application, the rod-like workpiece 10 is pulled in the opposite direction to the arrow (4) to be removed from the slide block 25. At this point, a series of application work is completed. Thus, a series of work can be implemented by one hand. Moreover, even a single hand operator can implement the work. Moreover, it is sufficient that the rod-like workpiece is placed on the slide block and the rod-like workpiece is not required to be pressed against the slide block.
