CELL PRODUCTION METHOD, CELL, MODIFIED PC12 CELL, GENE, AND MUTANT PHOSPHOINOSITIDE-3KINASE

Disclosed are: a modified PC12 cell with new properties; and a technique that can produce a novel cell having the properties said modified PC12 has. The disclosed modified PC12 cell has the following properties: (a) using nerve growth factor on said cell does not induce neuronal differentiation; and (b) the cell expresses a mutant phosphoinositide-3kinase that does not activate Akt (the serine-threonine kinase) even if acted upon by nerve growth factor. Further disclosed are: a cell production method that produces mutant cells that express a mutant phosphoinositide-3kinase that does not activate Akt (the serine-threonine kinase); a cell obtained via said cell production method; a gene that codes for the aforementioned mutant phosphoinositide-3kinase; and the mutant phosphoinositide-3kinase coded for by said gene.
