The system has a transitional contact wire (13) arranged between two power supply line sections in a drive extending direction. The transitional contact wire contactlessly overlaps with contact wires (11, 12) of the adjacent power supply line sections in boundary regions (14, 16) at two ends. An arc detection module detects arcs among the contact wires of the power supply line sections and the transition contact wire. A shutdown system initiates shutdown of a power source of a vehicle (3) during detection of the arcs in a region of a power source interface (2). An independent claim is also included for a control method for security check for a power source interface between power supply line sections of a contact wire system.
