The device (1) is designed such that a semiconductor element such as switch and insulated gate bipolar transistor, is arranged between input terminals (3, 3') of an inverter (5), where the semiconductor element is conductive during absence of alternating voltage or presence of input voltage exceeding a threshold value. The input terminals supply direct voltage generated by a photovoltaic system. The semiconductor element is arranged at an accessible location at a housing of the inverter. Switching voltage of the semiconductor element is applied during absence of an alternating current signal.
