The meter (1) has a flow measuring unit (3) and two temperature sensors (4, 5) that detect outgoing and return temperatures of transportation media, respectively. An electronic unit (8) determines positive flow and negative flow of the transportation media in a flow direction (D) and positive or negative temperature differences between the outgoing and return temperatures. Simultaneous information about positive and negative flows determined by the electronic unit and the positive or negative temperature differences is output at a display device (10) i.e. optionally colored LCD display.
