PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a treatment method by which scale obstacle can be reduced when metal ions are removed from water to be treated containing free carbon dioxide or carbonate ions and to provide a treatment apparatus used for performing the treatment method. SOLUTION: A metal-containing water treatment method is used for removing metal ions from the metal-containing water and has a decarbonation process S1 for carrying out decarbonation treatment of the metal-containing water, a metal hydroxide forming process S2 for converting the metal ions to water-insoluble metal hydroxide by adding an alkali agent to treated water subjected to the decarbonation process, a flocculation process S3 for flocculating solid components including the metal hydroxide by adding a flocculant to the treated water subjected to the metal hydroxide forming process S2 to form an aggregate and a solid-liquid separation process S4 for carrying out solid-liquid separation of the aggregate from the treated water subjected to the flocculation process S3 to form a precipitate.
