<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for reducing the electric power consumption of an optical network unit of a passive optical network. <P>SOLUTION: The passive optical network includes an optical line terminal connected to a telecommunication network, an optical splitter, and a plurality of optical network units ONUs. The method includes the steps to be executed by the optical line terminal for receiving data from the telecommunication network, identifying the optical network unit to which the data is intended, memorizing the data, transferring information enabling the identified optical network unit to determine a first time period in which the identified optical network unit receives the data, and transferring the data according to the first time period. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
