PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electromagnetic shock absorber capable of improving a life of a ball spline and reducing the size. SOLUTION: The electromagnetic shock absorber 1 includes a support means 9 for attaching an upper part of a housing 7 to a vehicle body. The support means 9 includes: a pair of needle bearings 21 which have an axial line orthogonal to the axial line of a screw shaft 6 at right angles and are positioned symmetrically to the axial line of the screw shaft 6; a casing 22 holding the needle bearings 21; a pair of rubber elastic bodies 23 disposed on the upper face of the casing 22; and a disc mounting fitting 24 disposed on the upper face of a pair of rubber elastic bodies 23 and provided with an anchoring bolt 25 to the vehicle body.
