PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an annular body holding member enabling to perform the annular body setting work in a very simple and safe manner, and to be sold as a new commodity with the annular body being accommodated therein, and to allow the annular body to be set in a very simple manner with the position of a degassing part being reliably upward. SOLUTION: The annular body holding member includes: an annular body 1 which has a shape substantially similar to that of an end face of a steel member to be welded, is formed of substantially same materials, and has a degassing part 11; a synthetic resin-made holding container 2 having a projecting part 22 having an annular body installation space for accommodating the annular body 1 on a bottom surface 21 side, and a projecting part 23 to be connected thereto; and a synthetic resin-made lid body 3 which crowns the annular body installation space S of the holding container 2 and stops the turn of the degassing part 11 of the annular body 1. The annular body 1 is preferably formed by cutting substantially one circumferential section out of a material formed in a coil spring shape, and providing the degassing part 11 with a space at both ends thereof.
