<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming method which can inhibit the generation of a cackling phenomenon during forming an image and also, can form an image with superior adhesive properties. <P>SOLUTION: This image forming method comprises the following processes: (1) an ink applying process to apply an ink composition containing a pigment with a volume average particle diameter of 70 to 130 nm, a polymerizable compound and water to the surface of a recording medium by inkjet process, on applying conditions that the maximum application amount of the ink composition be not more than 15 ml/m<SP>2</SP>; (2) a treatment liquid applying process to apply the treatment liquid containing a flocculating agent which flocculates a component content of the ink composition to the surface of the recording medium; (3) a drying process to remove at least a part of the water contained in the ink composition applied to the surface of the recording medium on drying conditions that 60 to 80 mass% of water of the water content of the ink composition to be applied as a maximum application amount be removed; and (4) a polymerization process to irradiate the ink composition from which water is removed with active energy rays. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
