<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which can appropriately perform a temperature control in the inside of the image forming apparatus, even when heating and cooling are performed by using a heat pump. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes: a fixing device configured to fix an image based on image data onto a recording medium by performing processing using a heat generation source; and a heat pump means which can cool a cooling target device by moving the heat absorbed by a heat absorption part from the cooling target device to the heat generation part, and can apply heat energy to the heat generation source. The image forming apparatus also includes: a fixing device temperature detecting means configured to detect the temperature of the fixing device; a cooling device temperature detecting means configured to detect the temperature of the cooling target device; a classification means configured to classify the temperature situation of the fixing device and the cooling target device based on the detection results obtained by the fixing device temperature detecting means and the cooling device temperature detecting means; a monitoring means configured to monitor the operating situation of the image forming apparatus; and a drive control means configured to perform the drive control of the heat pump means based on the temperature situation classified by the classification means and the operating situation monitored by the monitoring means. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
