<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developing device which forms high quality image without lowering productivity by eliminating development history caused by residual development toner on a toner carrier even in the course of an image forming operation, and to provide an image forming apparatus using the developing device. <P>SOLUTION: The hybrid developing device having a plurality of toner carriers includes a supply amount control means that exerts control so that an amount of toner attached to the surface of each toner carrier periodically changes, the length of the area to which toner is attached in one period is shorter than the length corresponding to one rotation of the toner carrier, there is a difference between an integral multiple of the period in which the amount of attached toner changes and the period of the rotation of the toner carrier, and, in addition, electrostatic latent images on the image carriers are uniformly developed to compensate for periodic changes in the amount of toner attached to the surface of each toner carrier. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
