PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an armature for rotary electric machine wherein the coil can be wound easily around the core, electrical insulation can be ensured easily between the conductors, and design flexibility is high. SOLUTION: The armature for rotary electric machine includes a first wave winding coil 61 which is formed to round in the circumferential direction C by connecting the adjoining connection/extension portions 51 of the first segment conductor 41 sequentially, and a second wave winding coil 62 which is formed to round in the circumferential direction C by connecting the adjoining connection/extension portions 51 of the second segment conductor 42 sequentially, wherein the connection/transition portion 53 of the first wave winding coil 61 is arranged to overlap the continuous transition portion 52 of the second wave winding coil 62 on the other side L2 in the axial direction, and the connection/transition portion 53 of the second wave winding coil 62 is arranged to overlap the continuous transition portion 52 of the first wave winding coil 61 on one side L1 in the axial direction.
