PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a guide roller which realizes weight reduction, and its manufacturing method. SOLUTION: The cylindrical guide roller includes a first fiber reinforced resin layer 3, a second fiber reinforced resin layer 4 provided on the first fiber reinforced resin layer, and a diamond-like carbon film 5 provided on the second fiber reinforced resin layer 4, wherein an orientation direction of a reinforced fiber in the first fiber reinforced resin layer is not aligned in an axial direction of the guide roller and an orientational direction of a reinforced fiber in the second fiber reinforced resin layer is aligned in an axial direction of the guide roller. After heating and curing a wound body formed by laminating and winding a second pre-preg sheet taken as a second fiber reinforced resin layer on a first pre-preg sheet taken as a first fiber reinforced resin layer and then adjusting surface roughness and out-of-roundness by grinding the second fiber reinforced resin layer, a diamond-like carbon film is formed. Since a roller body which is smooth and excellent in out-of-roundness can be formed through the grinding, the diamond-like carbon film can be made thinner. COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
