The invention relates to a method for controlling an electric motor (M), especially in a fan, by means of a control variable (PWM). Said method comprises the following steps: a manipulated variable (TV) having a time curve ((?TV/?t)Soll) is provided; a corrective value (KSte?gung) is determined in accordance with motor characteristics describing a dependence of a motor variable (n) on the manipulated variable (TV) and in accordance with the control variable (PWM); and the time curve of the manipulated variable (TV) is adjusted in accordance with the corrective value (KSte?gung) in order to obtain the control variable (TVA).
