<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a process unit capable of preventing damage of a developing unit when driving force is input into a driving input unit of the developing unit while the developing unit is arranged in a detachment position, and to provide an image forming apparatus including the process unit. <P>SOLUTION: A developing cartridge 13 is movable between an image forming position capable of forming an image while being held in a process frame 12 and a detachment position capable of detachment from the process frame 12. The developing cartridge 13 includes a coupling member 58 capable of input of driving force and a gear train 56 for transmitting the driving force input in the coupling member 58. The process frame 12 includes a switching boss 42 which makes a detection gear 63 to engage with an agitator gear 62 when the developing cartridge 13 is arranged in the image forming position, and which makes the detection gear 63 to disengage from the agitator gear 62 when the developing cartridge 13 is arranged in the detachment position. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
