PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for treating an acid in an organic solvent by which an acid component and an amount of water becoming the cause of the generation thereof, mixed in the organic solvent are reduced, the organic solvent is recovered efficiently, and the recovered organic solvent can easily be reused as a raw material, and to provide a method for treating the acid. SOLUTION: The apparatus for treating the acid in the organic solvent is used by targeting a fatty acid ester as treating object, and has, as main constituent elements, a mixing treatment part 3 for treating the acid component in an undiluted solution by forming a liquid to be treated by mixing the organic solvent with a chemical containing an alkaline earth metal compound free from a strong acid group as a main component, and stirring the liquid to be treated, and a purification treatment part 4 for forming a purified liquid of the organic solvent by separating a solid component in the treated liquid to be treated.
