The invention relates to a sensor arrangement comprising a transmitter for emitting a light beam and a receiver e.g. for realizing a light barrier or a proximity sensor. The receiver has at least two sensitive regions which are embodied as organic photodiodes and by means of which the light beam can be detected. As seen in the x direction, the regions are arranged at a specific distance dx from one another. The sensitive regions furthermore have a specific extent in each case in the x direction. The beam spot formed by the light beam at the location of the surface of the receiver has a diameter d. This diameter d, the distance dx and also the extents of the sensitive regions are coordinated with one another in such a way that, on the one hand, the diameter d is less than the extents and, on the other hand, the diameter d is greater than the first distance dx. This sensor arrangement makes it possible, using simple means, to detect motion in the x direction. On account of the use of organic photodiodes, the receiver has a very small component depth.
