<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a part of abnormality detection/protection functions of DC intermediate capacitors by using an overcurrent protection circuit in an inverter, to effectively utilize a circuit component, to simplify a constitution by reducing the number of part items, and to achieve cost reduction. <P>SOLUTION: In the inverter which comprises a plurality of DC intermediate capacitors which are connected in series to or in parallel with one another, and has the protection function which protects the circuit by detecting an overcurrent flowing to the circuit and cutting off power supply, when a short-circuit failure occurs in the DC intermediate capacitor, upper and lower arms are forcibly short-circuited by turning on semiconductor switching elements of the upper and lower arms which constitute the inverter, the overcurrent which flows at that time is detected, and the protection function is made to work. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
