PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a feed water operation system which attains a stable and continuous plant operation, even when there is a trip of a low-pressure condensate pump 2 during a thermal output improved operation. SOLUTION: When a normal operation function 22 of stand-by machines of condensate pumps is actuated, three pumps of low-pressure condensate pumps 2 to 4 and high-pressure condensate pumps 8 to 10 go into operation. The suction pressure of feed water pumps 12 and 13 for driving turbines in a normal operation rises in comparison with the time when the normal operation function 22 of the stand-by machines of the condensate pumps is not actuated ( state with two pumps working). Even in case of a trip of the low-pressure condensate pump 2, moreover, the degree of the degradation in the suction pressure of the feed water pumps 12 and 13 for driving the turbines is lower than that when the normal operation function 22 of the stand-by machines of the condensate pumps does not actuate. The suction pressure of the feed water pump 13 for driving the turbines is never lower than the trip set point, and there is no risk that the pump 13 for driving the turbines is in a danger for automatic stop.
