<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a display device with a touch sensor, which can achieve high touch detection sensitivity by the small number of elements. <P>SOLUTION: The display device with the touch sensor includes: first and second substrates which are separately arranged so as to be faced to each other and are configured so that at least either one is deflected by the pressing force of an external proximity object; a first electrode formed on the surface of the first substrate, which is faced to the second substrate; a second electrode formed on the surface of the second substrate, which is faced to the first substrate, so as to be faced to the first electrode; a switch connected to the first electrode; a signal line controlled so as to be turned on/off to the first electrode by the switch; and a drive control section. The first and the second electrode configure electrodes of a display element for performing display on the basis of a potential difference between respective voltages and configure electrodes of a touch detection element for outputting a touch voltage Vtouch corresponding to a distance between both the electrodes. The drive control section performs an initialization operation so that the potential difference between the voltage Vs of the signal line and the voltage Vp of the first electrode may enlarge before the touch detection element outputs the touch voltage. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
