PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a versatile belt sander of low-volume diversified production which is a lightweight, easily assembled/disassembled, simple machine tool while a worker can easily perform his work with the tool including an inspection process at low cost, and to supply a convenient belt sander hand-gliding pad for a hand tool which is easily left behind. SOLUTION: Pulleys are provided on both ends of a long ridge of a trapezoidal shape with the longitudinal ridge being horizontal, and one pulley forms a driving pulley, and the other forms an idle pulley. A substantially horizontal trapezoidal short ridge is arranged directly above the long ridge, and rollers are provided on both ends of the short ridge. The roller located diagonal to the driving pulley forms a weight tensioner roller and the other forms an idle roller. Four pieces of the pulleys and the rollers are wound along the four sides of the trapezoidal shape by an endless sanding belt, and the endless sanding belt on the long ridge is circulated by the driving pulley in the retracting direction.
