摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect a minute leakage from a plant pipe, peripheral equipment, and so on, without fail, and enhance the accuracy of leakage detection, even when it is difficult to detect a minute leakage from a pipe unaccompanied by a temperature rise on the occasion of the leakage, without fail, or even when a there is a temperature rise due to change in the operating condition of the peripheral equipment or room temperature and when it becomes difficult to detect only a leakage from a pipe. SOLUTION: The leakage monitor device includes a light intensity detection means for performing detection concerning a photonic crystal fiber 4, covered with a swelling substance which swells by coming in contact with a liquid having leaked, to detect a decrease in intensity of back scattered light due to swelling of the substance; a leakage detection means for detecting leakage of the liquid, on the basis of the decrease in the intensity of the back scattered light detected by the light intensity detection means; and an arithmetic operation means for performing identification of the position of the leakage.
