PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dust separating/collecting container for securely capturing once-accumulated dust while centrifuging the dust by a swirling flow within a cylindrical container body and accumulating the centrifuged dust at the same time, and a vacuum cleaner. SOLUTION: The dust separating/collecting container 7 includes: the bottomed cylindrical container body 33; a suction tube 34 connected to the container body 33 for generating the swirling flow F along the inner periphery of the container body 33; a discharge tube 35 displaced to one end side of the container body 33 than the suction tube 34 and connected to the container body; a partition wall 37 disposed between the suction tube 34 and the discharge tube 35 and having an opening 37a disposed approximately at the center of the container body 33; and a separation wall 41 disposed to the other end 33b side of the container body 33 than a connection portion of the suction tube 34, having a gap 39 formed relative to the inner peripheral surface of the container body 33, and also having an opening 41a disposed outside the center line C of the container body 33.
